What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?
Was choosing to be happy.
I was sad for a long time and had a very negative mindset. I was always thinking ‘why is this happening to me?’ ‘Why am i so unlucky?’ ‘Why can’t my life be different?’ ‘Who can I blame for all this?’. Then I changed.
I chose to be happy. I chose to be positive. I chose to start thinking ‘this is happening to me for a reason’, ‘I have faith that I am exactly where I am meant to be going exactly what I meant to go through’, ‘everything happens for a reason’. I chose to wake up in the morning with the mindset of ‘You GET to, NOT you have to’. You GET to go to the gym. You GET to go for a run. You GET to make your bed and tidy your room. You GET to wake up another day. You GET to live.
I woke up and chose to be grateful. I chose to be thankful for what I have whilst aiming for better things for myself. I chose to not be naive to all that I have been blessed with and how lucky I truly am.
I chose to improve myself, to choose the hard life now for the easier life later. I chose to get out of bed. I chose to learn. I chose to grow. I chose to make the most of every day. I chose to become a better person. I chose to love.
All of these choices have in turn made me a happier, better person and I am so proud of myself for making those choices. I will continue to do so. You cannot control what happens to you but you CAN control how you respond to it.
