Our mindset controls and influences a lot of our thinking and therefore behaviour and actions. It is influenced by our childhood, our environment, the people we’re around, things we’ve seen, movies we’ve watched, opinions of others we’ve heard, social media etc.
Having a negative and pessimistic mindset leaves you living a life of anger, frustration and never being able to move forward.
If we can switch our mindset to a positive and optimistic one, the world literally opens up for us.
Some of the biggest mindset shifts I had from negative to positive were:
You are the only person who can save yourself. You have to stop waiting around hoping for things to get better and for someone to come along and solve all your problems for you. It’s not going to happen. It’s on you. Your life is your responsibility – and it is beautiful and freeing.
You GET to do things and not you HAVE to. This is such a beautiful way of looking at life and helps you to appreciate what you have whilst also motivating you to do the things you don’t always want to do. You GET to go on a hike and you GET to use your legs to walk up that mountain.
