Do you need a break? From what?
Sometimes, we just need a break.
It could be from a job, from caring for people, from ourselves, an evil manager, our kids, our partner, our family.
I think perhaps calling it a ‘break’ has negative connotations as it implies that we need to get away from whatever thing we need a ‘break’ from. I think calling it something else like a ‘reset’ would be better. You don’t need a ‘break’ from your family – you need a personal reset to rest, come back to yourself, readjust and have some time with yourself before coming back stronger and better for your family.
This reset should be a time of building and growing yourself whilst relaxing and being separated from your typical every day life in order to give you some clarity and simply distance from it. This will help to recenter yourself and realise what is working and what is not working in your life – which will help you see what changes can be made.
Therefore, I think ‘resets’ rather than ‘breaks’ are a wonderful idea and believe we do all need them every now and again and should in fact be done every so often in an or hakes manner – a set time for your ‘reset’, like once a month etc.
