How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
This is a gooddd one.
I believe that life events can completely alter a persons perspective on life. Things, situations, tragedies, traumas, losses all impact now a person thinks, feels, interacts with others and moves forward.
Don’t get me wrong we can train ourselves to think differently and choose the perspective we want to have on life – but this takes a lot of effort and hard work and is not easy for many.
Let’s say for example that as a child, you are raised by a single mother who works her ass off to pay for you and your sibling to have a roof over your head and food on the table. This means that she is often stressed, tired and overworked and doesn’t always have time for you. Your perspective of single parenting due to this could be that it is terrible and that parents cannot fulfil their duty to their children and end up resenting your mother for not fulfilling your emotional needs or it could be the opposite and it could be that you grow up admiring your mothers strength and courage and are grateful for her hard work as you realise she was protecting you and paving the way for your future.
Each individual person will have a different perspective, even on the exact same situation. It is how we choose to look at life and to move forward that is important.,
