LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF

We are with ourselves constantly, the person we know the best. Or do we? Sometimes we’re so caught up in our thoughts and feelings that we forget to notice things about ourselves and find out who we actually are.

We notice someone else’s quirks and habits and the things they don’t like or love but fail to recognise our own of these things.

Take the time to find out these things, or write them down so that you can actually envision them and see for yourself who you are.

This allows you to reflect on the things you are doing well with and the things you could improve on. It also allows you to see what kind of love and affection you may need and give out to people and also what you don’t need, what will trigger your anxiety, what stimulates you, excites you, angers you. It will help you to understand yourself.

This will make your life easier and the lives of others around you easier as they will be able to better meet your needs.

Some things you could find out and write down about yourself can include:

  • Your hobbies
  • Likes/dislikes
  • Loves/hates
  • Goals and ambitions
  • Love language
  • Anxiety/stress triggers
  • Attachment style
  • Favourite things (films, songs, people, activities, places, foods)
  • Least favourite things
  • Random/specific thing about you
  • Your favourite and least favourite thing about yourself and how you could improve
  • Your current habits and habits you want to have
  • Career options
  • Dreams and fantasies
  • Describe your characteristics and personality – you could get the opinion of others for this also
