At the start of 2023 – I began to change my life – here are some of the things I have done since that time that have transformed me into the person I am today (a much happier and healthier person).
- SLEEP – so many of us forget how vital this is in our everyday lives and take it for granted. Just because we ‘feel fine’ after getting 3 hours of sleep for the past 4 nights. You may feel fine – but your body isn’t. Sleep affects EVERYTHING. Sleep is how we recover – our body and mind. Stick to a sleep schedule if possible (waking up and sleeping at the same time), or if that is not possible – at least try for between 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
- EATING HEALTHILY – what we put into our bodies will be reflected on the outside and inside either now or in years to come. We can live healthier, longer lives by putting good shit into our body rather than bad. You know what that means? We have power. We have power over our health. There will always be unforeseen circumstances and things that we cannot control that may arise – however we can make them less likely and prevent them through our diet and inner health. I have done extensive research through podcasts, books and experts to find out about the best foods, herbs, drinks etc to live a healthy life. I suggest you do the same.
- EXERCISE – I was never an exercise girlie before I started the gym. I did some sports when I was younger but not much – I just wasn’t interested. Then I started going to the gym in Jan 2023 and my life was changed forever. Now I could not imagine not doing some form of exercise. Whether it is weightlifting, calisthenics, running, cardio, football, basketball, gymnastics, Pilates, yoga or simply walking – do some exercise and get your body moving – we only have the one, we should be doing everything we can to look after it.
- READING – the amount of knowledge you can acquire from other people is amazing. You have millions of people before you who have lived and have experienced things so that now you are wiser and don’t have to make the same mistakes. Reading can give you a head start. It can provide knowledge that may have taken years of trial and error to find out. You can read about almost anything. Reading stimulates our brain and teaches us.
- MINDSET SWITCH – one of the biggest things I changed that has affected me mentally is to change my mindset. Before Jan 2023, I was very negative and pessimistic- I complained and moaned and was sad – believing that the whole world was against me. I chose to save myself and wake up. I chose to be happy. What is being sad going to do for me? I chose to be grateful and appreciative, to think of things as a blessing rather than a curse, to believe that I get to do things rather than I have to do them. This changed my life completely.
