What do you want your 2024 to look like? What is 2024 going to be the year of? What goals and ambitions do you have for this coming year? What are your focuses? What do you need to work on/improve? Which country do you want to travel to? What new experiences do you want to have?
2024 is a blank canvas. Fill it.
You may already have things going on, work goals or projects , family trips or events, parties, birthdays etc. BUT WHAT DO YOU TRULY WANT YOUR YEAR TO LOOK LIKE?
Mood boarding can be a cute, effective way of visualising your year and finding out what you truly want/need from the year – IF IT IS DONE CORRECTLY. You can’t just stick a bunch of pictures up of things you like or think look cool and pretty and hope that your life manifests itself to look like that.
There are steps:
1) Bubble map or list the big things you want to achieve, accomplish, do, experience, improve, feel etc – for example go backpacking around Europe for a month, visit family you haven’t seen in a while, start going to dance classes
2) Write down the smaller things you want to change /try out in every day life within the same bubble map – for example implement a new skincare routine everyday, make Sunday self care day each week, cut out alcohol, swim once a week
3) Once you’ve brainstormed and figured out what you actually want from the year – break it all down and get super specific and write it down – when exactly will you go on holiday, what month do you want to have saved x amount of money by, how much weight do you want to lose each month?
4) Find pictures or create your own pictures/words using apps like Canva or your own images you’ve taken that match with your year – be super specific with this – for example, if you want to backpack Europe for a month – get pictures of a backpack, the different countries in Europe you want to see – including their exact location (you could use a map picture), the food you might have there, the sights you want to see there, the language that is spoken, famous words/phrases associated with that place or if you want to start dance lessons once a week you might get pictures of someone who looks similar to you dancing, pictures of the clothes you would be wearing, the specific type of dance you want to learn, a picture of the feelings/emotions you might feel whilst dancing etc. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO BE SPECIFIC AND AS ACCURATE AS YOU CAN.
5) Create your mood board. No one’s will look the same and it shouldn’t. Create it in a way that suits you best and put it in a place where you can see it all the time. That is your 2024. Every time you see it you need to believe that is what your 2024 is going to look like – THEN YOU NEED TO PUT INT THE WORK. Unfortunately, you can’t just put up a mood board and expect everything on it to magically come true. You need to use it as your motivation, as a goal setter, a reminder of how good your year could look if you put int the work and make it happen.
Good luck slayers 🙂
