REMEMBER YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING FOR THE FIRST TIME

You are growing up. You are making decisions you’ve never made before. You are trying something new. You are starting a new job. You are trying to learn a new language. You are trying to build something you’ve never built before. You are starting a business for the first time.

No matter how old we get, we will try something for the first time.

When this happens, it is important to remember that it is okay to be bad and to suck and to have no clue what you’re doing – because you’ve never done this before. You’ve never done life before. We are constantly learning and adapting and finding out what life is all about and how we should behave and act. You need to make mistakes the first time around to realise and understand where you went wrong. Only then can you correct that behaviour and move forward.

So give yourself some credit for your ‘first times’ because they are you first times! Just like a baby walking for the first time – they’re not great at it – they wobble, can’t go very far and need help and support from their parents and end up falling over a lot. BUT, they get back up. They try again. They wobble a little less. Go a bit further. Need less help from their parents. We are all just babies – with a whole bunch of firsts.

Let yourself have those ‘firsts’ – maybe you will be alright at it or maybe you will suck for a bit. The important thing is PERSEVERANCE. The important thing is SHOWING UP. The important thing is NOT GIVING UP. The important things is LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES THE FIRST TIME AND NOT REPEATING THEM.

If you can do this – you will be able to get good at and master anything you wish to.
