UPS AND DOWNS

We’ve all heard the saying ‘life is full of ups and downs’ but it truly is. You’re not always going to feel okay and that is simply reality. There will be times when it feels like the entire world is against you, or it’s weight is resting on your shoulders alone, you can’t be arsed, everything seems to be going wrong, nothing seems worth it, you have no energy, everything’s a mess. We all go through periods of struggling and dealing with thoughts like these – that’s part of life. We can’t control what happens to us BUT we CAN control how we react and what we do about it. Let me repeat that.

WE CAN’T CONTROL WHAT HAPPENS TO US BUT WE CAN CONTROL HOW WE REACT AND WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT.

If life was always flowers and rainbows and nothing went ‘wrong’, we would never learn, it would be dull and lifeless and we would probably all be shit people. Every hardship and experience you go through makes you stronger, prepares you for something in the future, makes you learn something and helps you to grow. Life is meant to be a mix of every emotion, of good and bad, of hard and easy, or comfort and uncomfort. That is the point.

You couldn’t have an up without a down and vice versa- they come together.

If you want to be successful – you’re going to go through a tough period of dedicated hard work, commitment and compromise.

If you want to be loved and have a good relationship- you’re going to have to learn to love yourself first and work through all your issues.

If you want to get fit – you’re going to have to turn up to the gym for the first time & then keep showing up.

We needs the ‘downs’ for the ‘ups’ to come in all their glory.

Embrace the downs – for all it means is that the best is yet to come. You can’t change the ‘down’ so change your attitude towards it.
