I am not an expert so therefore I am not here to attempt to educate or explain the details to you as I am unqualified and not the best person for that job. However I am here to say my piece.
This may not be a ‘comfortable’ or ‘easy’ read – but it is a necessary one.
People are being murdered every day. Innocent people are being murdered every day. Women and children are being murdered every day. Children are being made into orphans every day. Parents are being made childless every day. Families are being torn apart. People are becoming lost in rubble. Bombs are dropping left, right and centre. There is no safe place. No haven. No rest. No peace. No help.
We are witnessing, and allowing a mass genocide to occur. If you believe anything different, I am shocked and astonished and urge you to research the situation and topic further to educate yourself. As I said I am not an expert on this topic and I continue to educate myself every day, however it is clear to see that this is a genocide and not a war.
War is defined as ‘a state of armed conflict between different countries or different groups within a country’. Therefore, this cannot be defined as a war. Do you think the innocent civilians in Gaza have guns? Or any kind of weapon to defend themselves? Do they have a military? Do they have help or support? This has been going on for years AND WE HAVE DONE NOTHING.
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THAT.
HOW CAN WE STAND BY AND DO NOTHING WHILST INNOCENT PEOPLE GET MURDERED IN PLAIN SIGHT EVERY SINGLE DAY?
WE MUST DO BETTER.
RISE UP.
THINGS YOU CAN DO:
- Keep yourself updated and not ignorant with what is going on in Gaza through social media accounts, blogs, interviews and discussions. The news can be a beneficial source but is also corrupt and full of idiots so be careful who you listen to. Listen to the experts who have been involved with the topic for decades.
- Sign petitions – you can find them on the gov website in the uk by typing in ‘Palestine’.
- Donate whatever you can – Share the meal, Egyptian Red Cross, Droplets of mercy are good charities to donate to.
- Put pressure on your local MP’s – search ‘pre written letter about Palestine to MP’s on Google. This can be done through Islamic Relief.
- Learn and educate yourself on the topic so that you know what you’re talking about and can be confident when explaining to others.
- Share all this information with people you know and urge them to do the same.
- Go to local marches and show your support.
WE MUST RISE UP.
