MAKE YOUR SPACE YOUR OWN

Your space should be clean & organised and it should reflect YOU.

Now I am fully aware that this is much easier said than done – I have been your classic ‘messy’ bedroom gal for a LONG time. However, more recently I have been endeavouring to tidy up after myself by doing simple things like; putting my clothes away straight away, putting general things back where they belong, going through stuff regularly and chucking away or donating to charity things I no longer use, picking things off the floor and finding them a permanent place, rearranging my room to make better use of the space. I have also been adding touches to make it more ME and align with who I am and what I’m doing. For example, I’m doing a lot of learning at the moment and trying to be more organised, so I’ve purchased some whiteboards to go on my wall and have put up topics I’m interested in. I also have a mood board/goal board to remind myself of what I’m working towards.

It’s okay to change your space. It’s okay for it to evolve and adapt WITH YOU. In fact, it’s more than okay, it’s ideal. Have a clean, organised space that aligns with you will help you to have a clearer mind and feel less ‘cluttered’ and all over the place. You can also organise your room in a way that makes carrying out your desired habits easier or undesired habits harder (Atomic Habits – James Cover). For instance, if you’re trying to read more – put your book in plain sight – next to/on your bed. You’re trying to get better at doing your skincare – put it next to your hairbrush or in the bathroom next to your toothbrush.

Love your space – it can be your place of refuge, of peace and calm, where you relax or where you do work, where you learn, where your sleep and recover, where you get ready, where you store your most precious belongings. It is a special place. So do not neglect it.

LOVE YOUR SPACE ❤
