This is the symbol for gratitude.
Within my learning and growth and change in mindset, I truly believe that gratitude has been the most important thing for me. Realising what you have and being grateful for it is such a beautiful thing and such a vital thing. It is so easy to forget, but you have literally a million things to be grateful for.
I start my mornings off by writing down some things I’m grateful for, you could set yourself a limit like writing 5 things every morning you’re grateful for, I prefer to just let it flow but both works. The importance of doing this in the morning is that it will start your day off with you in the mindset of gratitude and appreciation. I used to do it at night and although that is still better than nothing, I found it much less effective.
Try to think of different things each day, but sometimes the same things will pop in your head and I think it’s important to write down exactly what you’re thinking/feeling. Things that you’re grateful for can range from; the sun rising and shining on your face, the pen that’s in your hand, the bed you slept in, a family member, a partner or friend, your favourite piece of clothing, a good day at work, a nice meal that you had to the very fact that you are alive and breathing.
There are endless things to be grateful.
And if you find yourself getting stuck in the trap of ‘I’m lacking this’ or ‘I don’t have that’ THINK OF WHAT YOU DO HAVE. There will always be something that you DO have, or that you have witnessed/experienced that someone else has not.
For example, let’s say you haven’t been on holiday this year, but you went last year – you can be grateful that you have ever been on holiday or gone somewhere other than you’re home – many people may not have experienced that. If you haven’t been abroad ever, then maybe you’ve travelled around your own country or area – you can be grateful for that. May you’ve never really moved around but you have other things and priorities in your life to be grateful for – like your job, your home, food, water, a bed, a healthy body, shoes. The list goes on.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR NO MATTER WHAT SITUATION YOU ARE IN. YOU JUST HAVE TO CHOOSE TO BE GRATEFUL AND LOOK AT LIFE THROUGH THE LENSE OF GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION.
And you will be happier and better off for doing so.
